The First Tagged Fish of the Year Turned in Sunday
Joseph Ingram of Cleveland, Alabama caught the first tagged crappie of the Weiss Lake Improvement’s 2026 Crappie Rodeo on Weiss Lake Sunday afternoon. He turned the fish in and collected his $50 prize at Bay Springs Marina. The Rodeo began on February 1st and runs through April 30th.

Anglers wanting to claim a prize if they catch a tagged crappie will need to get a Bounty Badge from one of the participating merchants around the Lake before they go fishing.
There are 55 tagged one thousand dollar tagged crappies, over 400 one hundred dollar fish and over 400 fifty dollar fish and One Tagged Fish worth $10,000..
