Sixteen charged in DeKalb County on drug-related offenses during January

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office reports that 16 individuals were charged with drug-related crimes during the month of January. Deputies, the K-9 Unit, the Drugs and Major Crimes Unit, Corrections Officers, and officers from Ider and Collinsville Police Departments were involved in the investigations and arrests.
Several incidents highlighted by the Sheriff’s Office include:

January 6: Deputies executed a search warrant at Northpoint Apartments in Fort Payne, resulting in the arrest of Lillie Bell Chaney, 52, and Cephas Dewayne Dotley, 66, both of Fort Payne. Cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were seized, and both were charged with possession with intent, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

January 7: A traffic stop on County Road 155 led to the arrests of Kimberly Annette Stinnett, 56, and Lynn Edward Clements, 61, both of Higdon. Fentanyl and paraphernalia were recovered, and the pair were charged with trafficking fentanyl and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

January 8: Katelin Marie Land, 31, of Brundidge, Alabama, was arrested after being found in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, and drug paraphernalia while being booked for a theft charge. She was charged with multiple drug-related offenses, including promoting prison contraband.

January 11: Lamya Denise Bennett, 19, of Douglasville, Georgia, was arrested after officers responding to a domestic violence complaint found her in possession of synthetic marijuana. She was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.

January 13–16: Multiple traffic stops resulted in arrests for methamphetamine, marijuana, THC vapes, and paraphernalia. Among those arrested were Daniel Cahson, 30, of Boaz; Richard Billy Gene Spencer Ferguson, 40, of Geraldine; and Jonathan Paul Gilbert, 46, of Collinsville. Charges included unlawful possession of controlled substances, resisting arrest, attempting to elude, and firearms violations.

January 18–24: Additional arrests included Jennifer Alishae Tidmore, 37, of Crossville; Christopher Lance Burks, 45, of Ider; Ashley Kay Pittman, 34, of Geraldine; George Charles Eastman, 61, of Trenton, Georgia; Joseph Ryan Bradford, 37, of Rising Fawn, Georgia; Jammy Manuel Curtis, 49, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; and Megan Elizabeth Williams, 37, of Ider. Offenses ranged from unlawful possession of controlled substances and marijuana to possession with intent, DUI, and other drug-related charges.
Sheriff Nick Welden commended deputies and partner agencies for their efforts in addressing illegal drug activity in DeKalb County.
All individuals were booked into the DeKalb County Jail pending court appearances, and investigations remain ongoing.
