In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

Tony Dixon, age 70 of Cedar Bluff, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a previous charge.

Kenneth Taylor, age 57 of Cedar Bluff, was arrested by the Leesburg Police Department for failure to appear on a previous charge.

Nicholas Pannell, age 26 of Gaylesville, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a grand jury indictment for the unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Bethany Evans, age 40 of Gaylesville, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a grand jury indictment for the unlawful possession of a controlled substance-revoked bond.

Shenghan Chu, age 28 of El Monte, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of 1st degree financial exploitation of the elderly.

Arrests are based on probable cause; all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Currently, there are a total of 92 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
