Mrs. Martha Hannah Battles, age 85, of Sand Rock, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 3:30 PM at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Chris Murdock and Bro. Wiley Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Welcome Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Bailey, James Paul Bailey, Tyler Lumsden, Brandon Harris, Chad Oliver, and Keith Battles.

Mrs. Battles is survived by her step-son, Tracy Battles; and several nieces and nephews: Randall Bailey, Judy (Garland) Cox, Shirley (Billy) Lumsden, Rita (LeBron) Fannin, Barry (Jill) Bailey, Michael (Rosie) Chambers, Margarett (Ronnie) Barber, and Bill (Lesley) Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Battles; her parents, John Wiley and Mozelle Weems Bailey; her brothers, James H. Bailey, John W. Bailey, Jr., William W. Bailey, Maurice Mackey Bailey, and John Gilbert Bailey; and her sisters, Myrtle Pearson, Mae Adrian, Margie Bartlett, Ruth Johnson, Dorothy Chambers, and Mary Oliver.

Mrs. Battles retired from Cherokee Electric Cooperative after many years of dedicated service as a secretary. She was a faithful member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church, where she served as a children’s Sunday School teacher and church treasurer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will accept flowers.
