Third-quarter surge helps lift Cedar Bluff boys at Jacksonville Christian

JACKSONVILLE – The Cedar Bluff Tigers broke open a tight basketball game by outscoring Jacksonville Christina 23-7 to take at 72-54 victory on Tuesday.

Shon Gleen sank four 3-pointers and led the Tigers (18-10) with 18 points. Jonas Brown added a pair of treys and had 16 points. Zach Jones tossed in 14 points.

Kuper Bradley and Keondre Wynn scored nine and six points respectively for the Tigers.

Noah Lee netted 21 points to lead the Thunder. Bryson Dowdey delivered 15 points. Wil Hudson and Anthony Goode both connected on a pair of 3-pointers and finished with six points apiece.

The two teams were tied at the end of the first quarter at 16. Jacksonville Christian held a 31-30 edge at halftime before the Tigers went on a tear in the third.

Cedar Bluff opens Class 2A, Area 13 tournament play against Pleasant Valley at Sand Rock on Saturday at 7 p.m.
