SAND ROCK – Will Cleere came away with 17 points and Jonas Browder added 16 points, including three 3-pointers, in leading Sand Rock to a 45-34 senior night basketball win over Sylvania on Tuesday.

Cleere also grabbed seven rebounds and had two assists for the Class 2A, No. 10 Wildcats (17-11). Browder also had three assists, two rebounds and a steal. Wyatt Miller managed eight points, nine rebounds, and a steal.

Bennett Hawes led the Rams with 15 points. Ethan Kirby contributed 12 points, all on 3-pointers. Brodie Blevins finished with five points.

Sand Rock held a 17-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter and took a 29-20 lead into halftime. The Wildcats led 41-24 after three quarters.

Sand Rock hosts the Class 2A, Area 13 tournament beginning on Friday. They take on Gaston at 7 p.m.
