Fatal Shooting Reported in Rainbow City

Rainbow City-Rainbow City police are investigating a fatal double shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning at an apartment complex on Doris Street.

WEIS Radio confirmed that officers were dispatched to the Rainbow Apartments at approximately 5:30 a.m. after receiving a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male who had died at the scene. A female victim was also found suffering from gunshot wounds and was airlifted to a Birmingham hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released.

Authorities indicated the incident appears to have stemmed from a domestic-related situation.
