Fire Department Crews Rescue Trapped Resident in Weekend Structure Fire

Anniston-Anniston Fire Department units E-2, E-1, E-5, and E-4 responded to a reported structure fire with entrapment in the area of 7th Street and Knox Avenue this past weekend.
Upon arrival, crews quickly initiated rescue operations and fire suppression efforts. Firefighters were able to safely rescue the trapped resident while simultaneously attacking the fire to prevent further spread.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was reported to have sustained minor injuries. Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control and fully extinguish it shortly after the rescue.
Officials credited the swift and coordinated response of AFD units for the successful rescue and outcome. The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
