CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors had a successful basketball senior night on Friday, defeating Class 5A Boaz by the final for 54-30.
Nevaeh Gaidurgis led three Lady Warriors in double figures with 16 points. Ellisan Givens added 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Brooklynn Bruce sank three treys and had 11 points.
Ava Martin managed a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and had six points. Macy Lea finished with five points for the Class 4A, No. 3 Lady Warriors (26-2), who won their 19th consecutive game.
Cherokee County held a 17-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter, then went on an 18-1 run in the second to blow the game open at 35-11. The Lady Warriors led 44-16 at the end of three quarters.
Addison Bowlin led Boaz with 17 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Harper Bankston also had a pair of treys and finished with six points.
