Sand Rock boys suffer 55-38 basketball setback at Hokes Bluff

HOKES BLUFF – Class 2A, No. 10 Sand Rock dropped a 55-38 basketball decision at Hokes Bluff on Thursday.

Will Cleere led the Wildcats (16-10) with 12 points and nine rebounds. Jonas Browder tallied 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, with four rebounds and three assists. Elijah Hood had six points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Caylor Jones sank five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 18 points to lead the Eagles. Bryce Whitaker rang for 12 points and Noah Johnson finished with 11 points.

Hokes Bluff held a 14-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 26-20 edge at halftime. The Eagles extended their lead to 40-30 at the end of three quarters.

Sand Rock travels to Spring Garden on Saturday.
