He was born on December 26, 1959, to Jake and Nelda Coker.
Richard was known for being a championship-winning coach for many of the little league teams his children played on and had a deep love for traveling the world.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jake and Nelda Coker, and his siblings Janet Ashburner and Joel Coker.
Richard was a proud graduate of Cherokee County High School and Auburn University. He had a passion for excellence in his career as a top-performing salesman, a lifelong devotion to all things Auburn Tigers, and a love of hosting world-class cookouts for his family any weekend he could.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his adventurous spirit, his love of cuisine from around the world, and—above all—his deep love for his family, for whom he said in the end,
“You all were the love of my life.”
“Those we love never truly leave us.
There are things that even death cannot touch.”
