Three area basketball teams dropped in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school rankings, released early Thursday morning.

But one team who holds steady is the Class 4A Cherokee County Lady Warriors (23-2). Winners of their last 16 games, the Lady Warriors are still ranked third behind top-ranked Plainview (23-2) and No. 2 Deshler (21-3).

Class 2A Sand Rock (14-9) and Cedar Bluff (17-5) both dropped a spot this week to No. 4 and No. 6 respectively. Class 3A Collinsville (8-9) and Piedmont (9-11) continue to receive nominations.

Speaking of Class 3A, Piedmont’s boys (13-5) are still ranked seventh. Class 2A Sand Rock (15-7) fell four spots to No. 8.

Class 2A Cedar Bluff (12-10) and Class 3A Collinsville (12-5) continue to receive nominations.
