FORT PAYNE, Ala.– On Tuesday, January 20th, the DeKalb County Drugs and Major Crimes Unit, along with the DeKalb County SRT, executed a high-risk search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of County Road 330 in Ider.
The warrant followed an ongoing investigation into a convicted violent felon believed to be in possession of multiple firearms. During the search, investigators recovered two firearms, methamphetamine, marijuana, and steroids from the residence.

Christopher Lane Burks, age 45 of Ider, was charged with Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm, multiple counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana Second Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Sheriff Nick Welden said deputies remain vigilant in protecting the citizens of DeKalb County and will continue holding offenders accountable.
