Cherokee County EMA Adds Power Outage Feature to Mobile App

CHEROKEE COUNTY — The Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency has launched a new power outage feature within the Cherokee County EMA mobile app to help residents stay informed during electrical service disruptions.

Officials said the new feature allows users to quickly access current outage information by opening the EMA app and selecting the “Power Outage” button. The button links directly to the Cherokee Electric Cooperative outage map, where residents can view reported power outages across the county.

EMA officials noted that while the outage map may experience brief delays of a few minutes, it provides near real-time information and remains a reliable resource for tracking power outages during emergencies.

The new feature is intended to streamline access to critical information, particularly during severe weather events or other emergency situations when timely updates are essential.
Residents who have not yet downloaded the Cherokee County EMA app are encouraged to do so and to enable notifications in order to receive important alerts and updates as they become available.
