A Message from Sheriff Jeff Shaver:

Cherokee County- “As winter weather moves into Cherokee County, I want to encourage everyone to take a few simple steps now to stay safe. Preparing ahead of time and using extra caution can make a real difference for you, your family, and your neighbors.”
Sheriff Shaver’s Winter Weather Reminders:
• Stay informed by keeping up with local weather updates.
• Charge phones, flashlights, and battery packs ahead of time.
• Have food, water, medications, and blankets on hand.
• Fuel up vehicles before conditions worsen.
• Avoid unnecessary travel if roads become slick, especially bridges and overpasses.
• Check on elderly neighbors or anyone who may need assistance.
• Bring pets inside or make sure they have adequate shelter.
Winter weather can change quickly, and roads may look safe when they are not. Our deputies will be monitoring conditions and responding as needed. Let’s work together to help keep Cherokee County safe!
