Multiple Drug Trafficking and Distribution Arrests Made Recently in DeKalb County

FORT PAYNE, Ala. —In recent weeks, the DeKalb County Drugs and Major Crimes Unit and DeKalb County Deputies have made multiple arrests for Drug Trafficking and cases related to the distribution of narcotics in DeKalb County.

On Wednesday, December 17th 2025, the DeKalb County Drugs and Major Crimes Unit executed a narcotics search warrant in the 4000 block of County Road 429 in Fyffe. During the search warrant, a trafficking amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, pills, a large amount of US Currency, and two firearms were seized. At the conclusion of the search warrant, BOBBI JOE MORE, (65 of Fyffe), was charged with Trafficking-Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 1st, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Addict in Possession of Pistol.

On Tuesday, December 30th 2025, a DeKalb County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on County Road 159 near the intersection of County Road 141 in the Cartersville community. As the Deputy was attempting to identify the driver of the vehicle, the driver became non-compliant and refused to exit the vehicle. The driver, later identified as DAMIAN L. POWELL, (41 of Jasper, TN), was extricated from the vehicle by Deputies and detained. POWELLwas found to be concealing a stolen pistol on his person, and the DeKalb County K-9 Unit as well as Agents with the Dekalb County Drugs and Major Crimes Unit responded to the traffic stop. During a search of the vehicle, a trafficking amount of Methamphetamine was discovered along with marijuana. POWELLwas found to be a convicted violent felon, and was charged with Trafficking-Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Pistol, Receiving Stolen Property 2nd (Firearm), and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

On Tuesday, January 6th 2026, The DeKalb County Drugs and Major Crimes Unit executed a narcotics search warrant at North Pointe Apartments in Fort Payne. During the execution of the search warrant, a large amount of cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia was discovered in the targeted apartment. At the conclusion of the search warrant, CEPHAS DEWAYNE DOTLEY(66 of Fort Payne) and LILLIE BELL CHANEY(52 of Fort Payne) were both charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, January 7th 2026, a Deputy with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on County Road 155 in Higdon. During the course of the traffic stop and a subsequent search of the vehicle, a trafficking amount of Fentanyl was discovered. LYNN EDWARD CLEMENTS, (61 of Higdon) and KIMBERLY ANNETTE STINNETT (56 of Higdon) were both charged with Trafficking-Fentanyl and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. CLEMENTS also had Failure to Appear warrants from previous charges in DeKalb County and was arrested on those warrants as well.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident:“Our office will remain committed to aggressive enforcement efforts to combat the distribution of illegal drugs in our county. We will never stop protecting our children and our community.”
