Lady Warriors move into top 3 in latest ASWA basketball rankings

Winners of 13 in a row and seeking their first Cherokee County Tournament title this weekend since 2017, the Cherokee County Lady Warriors (20-2) moved up a spot to No. 3 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 4A girls basketball rankings. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning.

Also holding at No. 3 this week in Class 2A is the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats (13-7), followed by the Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers (17-4), who are down a spot this week to No. 5.

Collinsville (8-8) and Piedmont (9-10) continue to receive nominations in Class 3A girls.

Sand Rock’s boys (15-5) dropped two spots this week to No. 4 in Class 2A. Piedmont (12-4) holds steady at No. 7 in Class 3A.

Class 2A Cedar Bluff (11-9) and Class 3A Collinsville (12-4) continue to receive nominations.
