SAND ROCK — Maddie Clanton posted 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a 66-17 area basketball rout of Gaston on Friday.
Molly Grace Lay added 15 points for the third-ranked Lady Wildcats (13-7). Hadlie Weaver sank four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points. Paitlyn Hughes came away with seven points and seven boards. Ayva Davis delivered five points and five boards. Kaylee Burns grabbed 13 boards and had two points.
Sand Rock plays Cedar Bluff in the Cherokee County Tournament next Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Richard Lindsey Arena.
