Vehicle Fire Closes Both Lanes of Alabama 68 in DeKalb County Near Mile Marker 17

DeKalb County- A single-vehicle fire reported at approximately 6:46 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, has resulted in a road closure in DeKalb County.
Reports state it is an 18 wheeler tractor trailer on fire.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, both lanes of Alabama Highway 68 near mile marker 17 are currently blocked and remain closed to traffic for an undetermined length of time. This is near Dawson’s Gap West of Collinsville.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are on scene monitoring the situation and managing traffic conditions.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and to use caution while traveling in the area. ALEA officials say updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
