Mr. Jeffery Lee Lewis, age 63 of Gaylesville, passed away on January 4, 2026, at Atrium Floyd Medical Center surrounded by family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Jeffery is preceded in death by his grandparents, Conor and Lois Aussiebrook Lewis, and John Jay and Sarah Kay Fronebarger; and his father, Joe Lee Lewis.
Survivors include his mother Greta Kay Lewis; brother, Joel (Angie) Lewis; nieces, Jada (Tait) Blankenship, and Chandler (Allen) LaFavor; nephew, Joseph Lewis; great nephews, Audie and Elliot Blankenship; great niece, Vivian LaFavor; and life-long friends, Lindon Hale and Mickey McCormick.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman and a recreational historian. He enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, gardening, raising chickens and being an expert marksman. Most of all, Jeff enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. His family and friends will dearly miss him and his larger than life personality.
