
ANNISTON, Ala.– Anniston Police Chief Nick Bowles has announced his retirement after 25 years of service with the Anniston Police Department.
In a Facebook post, Bowles said it had been an honor to serve the City of Anniston and reflected on the relationships and experiences gained throughout his career.
“It has been a great honor to serve the City of Anniston for the past 25 years,” Bowles wrote. “I have had some of the best times of my life working here and met some of the best people throughout my career.”
Bowles confirmed he has submitted his retirement letter to city hall, with his final day set for Jan. 8, 2025.
He also thanked department personnel for their support during his five years as chief, saying their guidance and hard work were essential in serving the community.
The Anniston city manager will select Bowles’ successor. Bowles extended his best wishes to whoever assumes the role.
