Nicholas Clanton has officially announced his candidacy for Etowah County Coroner, citing prayerful consideration and strong encouragement from community members as key factors in his decision.
Clanton, a lifelong resident of Etowah County, brings 16 years of experience in public safety to his campaign. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with first responders, business owners, elected officials, and community leaders across the county, building relationships rooted in service, trust, and dedication.
“I understand the responsibility and hard work it takes to serve as Coroner,” Clanton said. “This role is about more than a title—it’s about being a voice for families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.”
Clanton emphasized that his motivation for seeking office is to provide compassion, professionalism, and accountability, while offering peace and closure to families who have lost loved ones. He stated that his experience has taught him the importance of empathy, diligence, and clear communication when serving the public.
To mark the beginning of his campaign, Clanton has invited the public to an announcement event on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Reece City Town Hall, located at 1027 Valley Drive in Attalla. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Clanton, learn more about his vision for the office, and pick up campaign yard signs.
Clanton expressed gratitude for the support he has already received and said he looks forward to earning the trust of Etowah County voters.
“I’m running to represent the concerns of our community and to serve with integrity,” he said. “I would be honored to have the opportunity to give back to the county that has always been my home.”
