Mr. John Henry Sanders Jr., age 85, of Centre, formerly of Tobyhannah, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
John was born to the late John Henry Sanders Sr. and Mary Sanders. He lived a life grounded in family, perseverance, and love. He will be remembered for his strength, wisdom, and the deep care he showed to those around him. He is survived by his loving children: son, John Henry Sanders III (Notre); daughters, Arlene Robinson (Torusunto) and Melissa Hale (Ronny). He also leaves behind his brothers, Jimmy Sanders (Frances), Robert Sanders (Janice), Roy Sanders (Julia), and Gregory Sanders; sisters, Michelle Dennis (Neal) and Evelina Prioleau (Billy); eight grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished him deeply. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sarah Lee Montgomery Sanders; his son, Vincent Stewart Sanders; brothers, Samuel Sanders and Roosevelt Sanders; and sisters, Ernestine Gathers and Eva Mae Prioleau.
