Three Rome Men Arrested in Separate Violent and Drug-Related Incidents

Rome, Ga. Authorities reported multiple arrests in separate incidents across Rome over the weekend, including two aggravated assault cases and one drug-related arrest, according to Floyd County Jail records.

In one incident, an East Rome man is accused of violently attacking his mother Friday afternoon at a residence on Darlington Way. Reports state that 22-year-old Elijah Montez Bradley stabbed and struck the victim with a metal broom handle during the assault. Bradley was arrested Friday, Dec. 12, and charged with felony aggravated assault. Jail records indicate he remained incarcerated without bond as of Monday. The charge was cleared by arrest and the bond decision was set by Judge Lorie Hughes of Floyd Magistrate Court.

In a separate case Friday morning, police say an East Rome man threatened another individual with a firearm during an altercation at a gas station on Turner McCall Boulevard. According to reports, 64-year-old John Randall Headrick pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill him. Headrick faces multiple charges, including felony aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and actions, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, and a misdemeanor charge of pointing a gun at another person. His bond status was not immediately available.

In another unrelated arrest, a North Rome man was taken into custody Saturday evening on North Avenue in connection with a drug investigation. Floyd County Jail reports show that 42-year-old Bronson Delray Payne was charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Payne remained in jail without bond as of Monday.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
