Warriors fall short against Cleburne County

CENTRE – Tatum Perry posted 24 points, including three 3-pointers, but they weren’t enough to lead the Cherokee County Warriors to an area basketball win over Cleburne County on Tuesday night. The Warriors fell by the final of 50-40.

Cade Shubert topped the Tigers with 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Luric Ware added 10 points. Matthew Wilson and Caleb Fields both finished with nine points.

Jayquan Diamond finished with five points for the Warriors.

Cleburne County led 13-10 at the end of the first quarter and stretched it out to a 28-20 advantage at halftime. The Tigers held a 41-27 edge after three quarters. The Warriors managed to cut their deficit down to four in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers held on for the win.

Cherokee County hosts White Plains on Thursday.
