The council also recognized the success of the city’s Christmas Parade, which drew a large crowd. First place was awarded to the Polar Express float by Blake Broom. Second place went to the Forrest Gump float by Danny Collins, and third place was awarded to The Grinch by the Synergy Homeschool Group.
During a public hearing, the council approved a recreational vehicle campground ordinance. City officials said the ordinance will be amended to include language allowing tent camping, with the revised version to be reviewed by the city attorney before final adoption.
Council members also approved the city’s 2025–2026 budget, noting the city remains financially stable and maintains emergency procedures and a line of credit for unexpected expenses.
In other business, the council reappointed Sherry Stallings as municipal court judge. Members also discussed a request from Cowboy Church to serve meals using a food trailer, noting that permission from property owners and approval from the health department would be required.
