Illegal Alien Sentenced to Prison for Illegal Re-entry after Deportation

ANNISTON, Ala. — A Guatemalan national has been sentenced in federal court for illegally re-entering the United States following a prior deportation, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona of the Northern District of Alabama.
U.S. District Judge Corey L. Maze sentenced 41-year-old Maximiliano Pablo-Cinto to 18 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to illegal re-entry after deportation.
Court records show Pablo-Cinto was previously convicted on November 27, 2017, in the Northern District of Alabama for being a felon in possession of a firearm and received a 45-month prison sentence. He was removed from the country on February 7, 2019.
Authorities say Pablo-Cinto was arrested again on February 7, 2025, by the Albertville Police Department after he failed to appear in court on fraud and identity theft charges. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Deportation Removal Office was notified of the arrest, and he was later transferred to federal custody.
The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations with assistance from the Albertville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney R. Leann White prosecuted the case.
The prosecution was brought as part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling transnational criminal organizations, and reducing violent crime in local communities.
