Two Suspects Arrested in Rome Homicide; Investigation Remains Active

ROME, Ga. — The Rome Police Department is continuing to investigate a homicide discovered shortly after noon Tuesday in the John Graham Homes area near Hull Avenue and Cedar Avenue.
According to officials, witnesses reported seeing a red passenger vehicle in the area shortly before the body of a woman was found covered with blankets. That vehicle was later located and stopped in Bartow County with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.
Investigators interviewed several neighbors and witnesses throughout the day as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police say two suspects have been identified and taken into custody.

Mystique Malachi Amaziah Taylor, 23, is being held without bond on several charges, including fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, speeding, theft by receiving stolen property, and failure to obey traffic-control devices. Taylor also faces felony warrants for concealing the death of another, aggravated assault, two counts of felony murder, and aggravated battery. He is additionally being held for the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.
Rolanda Monique Edwards, 25, is also being held without bond. She is charged with party to a crime and is wanted on warrants for concealing the death of another and hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal.

Authorities emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Rome Police Department expressed appreciation to the Floyd County Police Department, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, and the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in locating and apprehending the suspects. Officials said the case highlights the strength of regional law enforcement partnerships and their shared commitment to public safety.
