The Class 3A, Region 8 football coaches recently selected their all-region football team. Collinsville quarterback Mason McAteer was chosen as the Offensive Player of the Year.
McAteer threw for 2,906 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also ran for 933 yards and 13 scores for the Panthers (8-3) last season.
Joining McAteer from Collinsville is Gavin Lang, Sylas Adams, Noah Johnson, Jeremiah Killian, and Bronner Jones. Travis Ledford and Kyler Beene are honorable mention.
Region champion Geraldine (11-2) had the most all-region selections, led by Player of the Year Jon Beck Wade and Defensive Player of the year Kenneth Watson. Joining Wade and Watson from the Bulldogs is Eli Schlageter, Dylan Galloway, Eli Mitchell, Trevor Williams, Gabe Garcia, Jacob Bryant, Braxton Franklin, and Kade Justice.
Bulldog honorable mention players are Kasen Vanicelli, Noah Butler, Cooper Johnson, Lucas Phillips, and Kason Armstrong.
Region runner-up Fyffe (8-3) is led by Athlete of the Year Ryder Gipson. Joining Gipson from the Red Devils is Weston Evans, Hunter Latham, Ryder Smith, Brycen Green, Noah Guinn, and Conner Hutcherson.
Red Devil honorable mention players are Hayden Parker, Maddox Doss, Jay Carter Lyles, Cooper Harrison, and Ian Slaton.
Representing Whitesburg Christian (5-6) is Greer Lovell, Henry Nuwayhid, Graeme Williams, Harry Field, Parker Blair, and Johny Taylor.
Warrior honorable mention players are Parker Miller, Blake Holland, Aidan Cook, and Emerson White.
Holly Pond (5-5) is represented by Boston Gibbs, Cade Albright, Brayden Ivey, and Miguel Garcia. Hunter Tolbert is a Bronco honorable mention.
Chosen from Sylvania (3-7) is Seth Ledford, Travis Owens, and Bryson Cook. Ram honorable mention players are Lucas Buttram, Noah White, and Sammy Anderson.
Brandon Hargrove and Logan Hallmark were selected from Brindlee Mountain (2-8). Spencer Stroud, Banyon Peach, and Aiden Valachi are Lion honorable mention players.
Blake Hillis represents Asbury (0-10). Ram honorable mention players are Levi Jacoby and MJ Jones.
