Mayor Joe Taylor shared the news, calling the project an important milestone for one of Etowah County’s fastest-growing communities.

“The decision by Emblem Credit Union to locate in Rainbow City marks another important step in our community’s forward momentum,” Mayor Taylor said. “This new location will become a vital part of our aggressively growing city, providing residents and businesses with convenient financial services while strengthening the economic foundation that continues to set Rainbow City apart. Emblem plans to undertake a full renovation of the property, transforming the building into a modern financial branch designed to enhance customer experience and community accessibility. While the renovation process will begin soon, officials say an opening date has not yet been finalized.

The new Rainbow City branch comes as part of Emblem’s broader expansion across Alabama. The credit union recently extended its service area to include five additional counties, bringing its total footprint to 10: Etowah, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, DeKalb, Marshall, Morgan, St. Clair, and Talladega.

Emblem representatives say the expansion underscores their commitment to providing innovative financial services while deepening their investment in the communities they serve.

As Rainbow City continues to attract new businesses and development, local leaders view Emblem’s arrival as another sign of the city’s strong economic trajectory.
