Rome Woman Arrested After Drugs Found During Death Investigation

ROME — Cassandra Langston, 43, of Rome, was arrested this week after police say they discovered a variety of drugs while responding to a call regarding a deceased male.

Authorities reported that upon arriving at the Nixon Avenue residence, they detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed drug paraphernalia. A search warrant was subsequently obtained, during which officers allegedly found cocaine, marijuana, Alprazolam, digital scales, smoking devices, and packaging materials.

Langston faces multiple charges, including possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, and two counts of possession or distribution of a controlled substance.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
