Leesburg Council Approves Funding for Fire Department Event, Considers Employee Bonuses
LEESBURG — Town leaders moved swiftly through a light agenda during Monday night’s council meeting, approving several year-end items as the holiday season approaches.
After adopting the minutes from the previous meeting, the council authorized up to $1,000 to support the Leesburg Fire Department’s annual Christmas party.
In new business, a motion was introduced—though not listed on the agenda—to recognize town employees for their service over the past year. The proposal calls for providing each town employee with a $250 holiday bonus. Council members expressed support for the measure, noting that the gesture reflects appreciation for staff contributions during what officials described as a “great year” for Leesburg.
The council is expected to revisit the bonus proposal for formal action at an upcoming meeting.
