Ragland Teen Identified as Victim in Fatal I-20 Accident 

A Ragland teenager who was struck and killed after exiting his disabled vehicle on Interstate 20 has been identified by authorities.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Monday that Jagger Thorne Cox died early on the morning of November 22. Cox had been traveling westbound on I-20 near mile marker 131 when his vehicle broke down.

According to officials, Cox exited the car and was struck by an oncoming vehicle around 4:15 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Birmingham Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. No further information has been released.
