Three Cherokee County FFA Chapters Earn National 3-Star Honor

Cherokee County-Cherokee County is celebrating major achievements by its Future Farmers of America (FFA) programs, with three local chapters earning the organization’s highest national distinction.

The FFA chapters at Cedar Bluff, Cherokee County High School, and Spring Garden have each been awarded the prestigious 3-Star Chapter rating through the National Chapter Award Program. The honor recognizes chapters that excel in leadership development, community service, and agricultural education while meeting the National Quality Chapter Standards and carrying out a strong Program of Activities.

Only 400 chapters nationwide—about 4 percent of all chapters—received the 3-star rating this year. Of those, just 17 were from Alabama, and three are located in Cherokee County.

In addition to the chapter honors, Spring Garden celebrated several individual achievements. Three Spring Garden students or recent graduates earned the American Farmer Degree, the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization. Only 32 students from Alabama received the degree this year.

Spring Garden also claimed a statewide victory in the Conduct of Chapter Meetings competition, with its team advancing to the national level and finishing with a Bronze medal.

Local school officials praised the dedication and leadership demonstrated by the students, advisors, and FFA programs across the district, noting that their accomplishments reflect a strong commitment to agricultural education and community engagement.
