Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck on U.S. 431 in Guntersville
Guntersville-A Minnesota man is in critical condition after he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing U.S. Highway 431 in Guntersville on Saturday evening.
According to the Guntersville Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:04 p.m. to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the entrance of Southgate Shopping Center. The incident involved a 2017 Ford F-150 traveling northbound and a pedestrian identified as Wade James Rist, 47, of Stillwater, Minnesota.
Investigators said Rist was attempting to cross U.S. 431 just north of the traffic light at the shopping center when he entered the path of the pickup truck. He was critically injured in the collision.
Guntersville Fire and Rescue, Marshall Medical Services, and AirEvac assisted at the scene. Rist was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford F-150 was uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Guntersville Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit.
