Crash Closes Westbound Lanes of U.S. 278 in Etowah County

ETOWAH COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon has closed the westbound lanes of U.S. 278 near Rowan Drive, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

The crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on November 10 and caused significant road blockage in the area. As of Monday afternoon, the westbound lanes remain closed, and authorities have not provided an estimated time for reopening.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to monitor the situation and will release updates as more information becomes available.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and use caution while traveling through the area.
