Sand Rock boys pick up season-opening basketball win over Brindlee Mountain

GUNTERSVILLE – The Sand Rock Wildcats had three players reach double figures in a 70-32 season-opening basketball victory at Brindlee Mountain on Saturday.

Will Cleere led the Wildcats (1-0) with 14 points. Elijah Hood netted 11 points. Thomas Snead connected on a pair of 3-pointers and had 10 points.

Tyde Traffanstedt tallied nine points and six assists. Wyatt Miller managed nine points and nine rebounds. Jonas Browder and Ezra Robison finished with eight and seven points respectively.

Quintavian Wright topped Brindlee Mountain with nine points. Holt Frachiseur had seven points. Kaden Lewis finished with six points on a pair of 3-pointers.

Sand Rock held a 13-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter, then blew the game open with a 28-6 run in the second to take a 41-14 edge at halftime. The Wildcats led 58-22 at the end of three quarters.

Sand Rock hosts Ashville on Friday.
