Sheriff Shaver Hosts 5th Annual Sheriff's Conference

Leesburg-Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver hosted the 5th Annual Alabama Sheriffs Foundation Networking and Education Conference last week. The training was held at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Training Facility in Leesburg.

Sheriff Shaver welcomed sheriffs and members of their command staff from nearly 30 counties across Alabama. The meeting included updates from the Alabama Sheriffs Association on current and legislative issues. The keynote speaker, Corey Dobridnia, presented on public relations.

Dobridnia serves as the Public Information Officer for the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

The event provided valuable information and an opportunity for Alabama sheriffs to renew and strengthen partnerships. These relationships help law enforcement leaders work together to solve crime and address issues within their home counties.

Sheriff Shaver stated, “We were honored to host so many sheriffs and showcase the beauty of Cherokee County. It was also a privilege to hold the conference in our new training center, which has been a great addition to our agency and community.”

Sheriff Shaver currently serves on the Alabama Sheriffs Association Executive Committee and is the District Four Director.
