Piedmont still ranked second in latest ASWA high school football rankings

The Piedmont Bulldogs (9-0) are the only area high school football team ranked in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.

The Bulldogs are ranked second in Class 3A behind defending state champion Mars Hill (9-0). Piedmont is going for its second straight Class 3A, Region 6 title and the program’s sixth undefeated regular season since 1990 with a win over Glencoe (7-2) on Friday night.

In Class 4A, the Cherokee County Warriors continue to receive consideration for the rankings. The Warriors (7-3) have this Friday off before traveling to ninth-ranked Good Hope (8-1) in the first round fo the state playoffs on Nov. 7.

This week’s ASWA high school football rankings are listed below with first-place votes, win-loss record and total poll points.
