Author McCracken Poston Jr. to Speak at Collinsville Public Library

COLLINSVILLE — The Collinsville Public Library will host author and attorney McCracken Poston Jr. on Thursday, November 6, at 5:30 p.m. for a special discussion and book signing event featuring his acclaimed true-crime book, “Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom.”

The book revisits one of Georgia’s most unusual and haunting criminal cases — that of Alvin Ridley, a reclusive television repairman from Ringgold who was accused of holding his wife hostage for 30 years before her death. Poston, who served as Ridley’s defense attorney, tells the story from his unique firsthand perspective, exploring themes of isolation, love, and justice.

Published earlier this year, Zenith Man has drawn widespread attention for its deep humanity and insight into a case that once captivated national headlines. The title refers to Ridley’s small TV repair shop and the brand of televisions he worked on for decades.

Poston, a former Georgia legislator and experienced trial lawyer, will share behind-the-scenes details about the case, the courtroom drama that followed, and his personal reflections on the experience.

The event is free and open to the public. Copies of Zenith Man will be available for purchase and signing.

The Collinsville Public Library is located at 151 Main Street, Collinsville, Alabama. For more information, visit zenithmanbook.com.
