Gadsden Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking

Key Community-According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, early yesterday morning, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the Key community for an expired tag. During the stop, the deputy developed probable cause to search the vehicle. Upon searching, the deputy discovered illegal narcotics and a firearm. The investigation revealed that both the firearm and narcotics belonged to a passenger in the vehicle.
The passenger, identified as James Frank Orgovan, 56, of Gadsden, was taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Jail. Further investigation determined that Orgovan was prohibited from legally possessing a firearm.

Orgovan was charged with the following offenses:
- Trafficking in Methamphetamine
- Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana Second Degree
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
