Staff Reports

Following a heartbreaking 36-28 loss at Alexandria, the Cherokee County Warriors (6-3) dropped out of the latest Class 4A high school football rankings, released by the Alabama Sports Writers Association early Wednesday morning.

Cherokee County travels to Ashville (6-2) on Friday to close out region play and the regular season before the 4A state playoffs begin on Nov. 7.

In Class 3A, the Piedmont Bulldogs (8-0) continue to be ranked second behind defending champion Mars Hill Bible (8-0). Piedmont travels to Wellborn (5-2) on Friday.
