Kellan + Co Coffee Opens in Leesburg with Warm Community Support
Leesburg, Ala. – There’s a new spot in Leesburg where residents can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee, sweet treats, and a little shopping all in one place. The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday morning for Kellan + Co Coffee, celebrating the grand opening of the locally owned coffee shop and boutique.
A large crowd gathered for the event, including Chamber members, local officials, family, and community supporters, who came out to welcome owners Christy and Wesley Brown to the Leesburg business community.
Located at 150 Industrial Boulevard, the shop held a soft opening about two weeks prior to gather feedback from early customers. That input helped shape operations and offerings ahead of the official opening.
The shop, named after the Browns’ grandson, is a small family-run business. Most current employees are relatives, though hiring efforts are underway as the shop continues to grow.
Kellan + Co Coffee was inspired by Christy Brown’s personal health journey and her desire to create a space that offers healthier coffee and food options. The menu features organic, non-GMO, seed oil-free, soy-free coffee, tested for molds and micro toxins, and made from single-source beans. Customers can personalize drinks with flavorings, and even popular baked items such as sourdough cinnamon rolls are made without soy.
Since opening, community response has been extremely positive. Many locals have already made Kellan + Co Coffee part of their daily routine. The shop offers both drive-thru service and call-ahead ordering for convenience, and customers who prefer to come inside can also browse the attached boutique. The boutique includes clothing, jewelry, insulated “Frost Buddy” cups, non-toxic skincare and hygiene products, and handcrafted UV-resistant door hangers made by a local art teacher.
Originally from Rainsville and currently a school counselor in Trion, Georgia, Christy Brown said she has been moved by the support shown by the Leesburg and Cherokee County communities. She described the experience as both rewarding and humbling, noting how welcoming and kind local residents have been throughout the soft opening and launch process.
