Rome Police Investigating Early Morning Homicide
Rome, Ga. — The Rome Police Department is investigating a homicide after officers discovered a young male with a gunshot wound early Tuesday morning.
According to police, officers responded around 5:20 a.m. to a report of a person lying in the roadway on Woodcreek Way. When they arrived, they found a young male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Investigators from the department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and are actively working to determine the events leading up to the shooting. Authorities confirmed later in the morning that the case is now being treated as an active homicide investigation.
