Fatal Motorcycle Crash Shuts Down Highway 27 on Taylor's Ridge

 

CHATTANOOGA COUNTY, GA—A fatal three-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Highway 27 late Sunday evening resulted in one death and injuries to another person, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred on the north side of Taylor’s Ridge. The Chattooga E-911 center dispatched the Chattooga County Coroner’s Office at 8:07 PM to the scene of the collision.

Chattooga County Coroner Jeremy McElhaney confirmed he responded and pronounced the operator of the motorcycle dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending proper family notification.

One additional individual involved in the crash sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Officials report these injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Due to the severity of the accident, all lanes of Highway 27 on Taylor’s Ridge were completely shut down for an extended period.

The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) is leading the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the three-vehicle accident.

Update: The deceased has been identified as Sarah Ryan, 50, of Trion, GA.
