Gadsden State to Host Annual Transfer Fairs

Gadsden, Ala.-Gadsden State Community College’s Advising and Retention Center
is hosting Transfer Fairs during the month of October. The events will be from 9 to
11:30 a.m. Oct. 22 in Allen Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus and Oct. 23 at the
Cheaha Center on the Ayers Campus.

“October is a momentous month for students interested in transferring to a four-
year college or university after completing a degree at Gadsden State,” said Dr.
Jeremy Williams, director of the ARC. “The fairs offer students a valuable opportunity
to connect with transfer colleges. Our department helps students bridge the gap
between general academic courses completed at Gadsden State and opportunities
for them to further their education in their preferred program of study. The event is
not only for those in traditional academic programs but also for students who may
want to pursue an additional degree after completing a program in a technical or
health science area.”

“Preparing an educational career path an entire academic year in advance is not too
early to plan. It guarantees students stay on track at Gadsden State before
transferring credit hours. It also opens an opportunity to become eligible for transfer
scholarships.”

Interested students are invited to meet with representatives from over 20 colleges
and universities and receive information on admissions, scholarships, financial aid
and housing.

Many colleges and universities provide an opportunity for students to
apply for free during this time.
