Mr. John Burk Williams, age 49, of Centre, passed away Tuesday, October 14th at AdventHealth Redmond.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. George Cobb, Dr. Eddie Nation, and Dr. Kevin Payne officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, prior to the service, from 12 noon until 3:00 PM. The burial will be private.
Pallbearers will include Phillip Wood, Jay Watts, Athens Green, Rich Lindsey, Nick McMichen, Matt McMichen, Silas Dobbs, Ben East, Keith Walker, and Troy Robinson.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Amanda Wood Williams, son, John Thomas Williams, daughters; Claire Victoria Williams and Abby Kate Williams, parents, Johnny and Marilyn Williams, father/mother-in law, Anthony and Patsy Wood, brother-in-law, Phillip Wood, uncles and aunts, Jimmy and Connie Williams and Reita and Bob Kelley, cousin, Paige (Silas) Dobbs, and several nieces, as well.
Mr. Williams was a native of Centre and a graduate of Cherokee County High School and Auburn University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Business and Economics. Burk loved his Lord and Savior, his family, his farm, and Auburn University. He enjoyed working for many years at the Farmers Co-Op before becoming a full-time and hardworking poultry and cotton farmer. Providing food and clothing for the world was an honor and a privilege that he didn’t take lightly. He was the kindest, most humble man and will be missed tremendously.
The Williams family respectfully requests no flowers or plants. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Howell Cemetery Fund or to Ebenezer United Methodist Church Building Fund. The address for both is 14160 Co Rd 22; Centre, AL 35960.
