30 Charged With Drug Related Charges During Month of September

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — During the month of September, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit, along with the help of Deputies, SRO and K-9 Unit, Sylvania, Rainsville, Mentone, Ider, Crossville and Henagar PDs were able to seize 192 grams of methamphetamine, 13 grams of marijuana, 5 grams of fentanyl and 19 dosage units of narcotics.

On Monday, September 1st, DeKalb County Deputies were given a medical call on County Road 169.  After arriving on scene, they made contact with a female suspect identified as Breanna Kay Breedlove(29 of Woodville, Al) and a male suspect.  While inside the residence Deputies could see narcotics paraphernalia in plain view.  The Major Crimes Unit was contacted and responded to the scene.  The male suspect was transported to the hospital by DAS.  After a search of the property methamphetamine, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia was found.  Breedlove was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

On Tuesday, September 2nd,DeKalb County Major Crimes Unit made a traffic stop on County Road 479 in Kilpatrick for obstructed windshield. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver was identified as Brandon Lee Riley(40 of Albertville) and passenger as Jonathan Lindsey Latham (43 of Albertville).  During the stop, Agents found a Trafficking amount of methamphetamine hidden under the vehicle. BothRileyandLatham were charged with Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 On Wednesday, September 3rd, DeKalb County Deputies made a traffic stop on AL Hwy 35 in Rainsville for improper lights.  Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver was identified as Austin Bailey Brothers (26 of Albertville) and the passenger as Chasity Marie Vincent (30 of Albertville).  The passenger lied about her name due to having active warrants.  During the stop a DeKalb County K-9 was deployed and alerted on the vehicle.  Deputies with the assistance of Rainsville PD found a firearm, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  Brothers was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug ParaphernaliaVincent was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Obstruction of Justice Using False ID.

On Friday, September 5th,Officers with Mentone PD responded to a possible broke down vehicle on County Road 647.  Upon arriving the Officer found a male suspect passed out behind the wheel.  While on the stop the male suspect was identified as Johnathon W Guyton (41 of Gadsden).  Guyton attempted to pull a pistol on the Mentone Officer, after getting Guyton detained Officers searched the vehicle and found alcohol, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  Guyton was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Open Container and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearm.

On Tuesday, September 9th, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department was patrolling the Fort Payne area looking for a robbery suspect.  A Major Crimes Unit stopped a vehicle on Forrest Ave at her residence and made contact with two females the driver identified herself as Cordy Mae Jackson (54 of Fort Payne) and passenger identified herself as Lois Ann Mills (45 of Fort Payne).  During the stop multiple types of controlled pills were found in the vehicle.  Deputies also searched inside the residence making contact with a Ottis Raymond Wells (43 of Fort Payne).  After a search of the residence methamphetamine, marijuana and more pills were found.  Jackson was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x4), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.Mills and Wells were both charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x2), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Again, on Tuesday, DeKalb County Major Crimes Unit along with Ider Police Department served a search warrant on AL Hwy 75.  Leland James McDowell (69 of Higdon), Vanessa Taylor Whitmoyer (30 of Higdon)andCrystal Lynn Benson (44 of Higdon) was at the residence.  After a search was done McDowell was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.Benson was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.Whitmoyer was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Evidence and Promote Prison Contraband 2nd

On Wednesday, September 10th, DeKalb County Deputies were in the area of County Road 726 and County Road 715 looking for Dennis Robert Wilson (55 of Henagar) who had active felony warrants.  Deputies found a van being driven by Wilson and stopped it.  After getting it stopped they found a female passenger identified as Kista Marie Vinson (40 of Pisgah).  Wilson was arrested for his active warrants and Deputies found a firearm in his pocket.  A DeKalb County K-9 was deployed and alerted on the vehicle after a search was conducted another firearm, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The DeKalb County Major Crimes Unit was called and responded to the scene and Wilson was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearms.Vinson was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Friday, September 12th, DeKalb County Deputies went to a residence on County Road 9052 to serve active warrants on Jessie Dane Moreland (33 of Geraldine) and Felicia Dell Bailey (38 of Collinsville).  After gaining entry into the residence Deputies arrested Moreland and found Bailey hiding in a cabinet.  While inside the residence methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found.  The Major Crimes Unit was contacted and responded to the scene.  Moreland and Bailey were both charged with Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Again, on September 12th, DeKalb County Deputies along with Crossville PD responded to an overdose call on County Road 125 and made contact with Natasha Mechelle Stiefel (37 of Albertville) and a male suspect, who was transported to the hospital.  The Major Crimes Unit was contacted and responded to the scene.  After searching the propertyStiefel was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernaliaand Resisting Arrest.

On Wednesday, September 17th, DeKalb County Major Crimes and DeKalb County Deputies served a search warrant on a residence on County Road 125.  Once inside the residence a male suspect identified as Tyler Matthew Scott (36 of Albertville) and a female suspect identified as Natasha Mechelle Stiefel (37 of Albertville) was detained.  While inside the residence methamphetamine, firearms, stolen property and drug paraphernalia were found.  Stiefel was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.Scott was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearm (X2) and Theft of Lost Property 4th

On Wednesday, September 17th, Dekalb County Deputies along with Henagar Police responded to Ider Foodland due to a Domestic dispute.  After arriving Law Enforcement made contact with a male suspect identified as Justin Daniel Prince (41 of Lawrenceburg, Tn) and a female suspect identified as Heather Nicole Prince (40 of Lawrenceburg, Tn).  While Investigating the Domestic Law Enforcement found the suspects to be in possession of methamp0hetamine, shrooms and drug paraphernalia.  The Major Crimes Unit was contacted and both suspects were arrested.  Justin was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (X2) and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.Heather was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (X2), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia & Domestic Violence 3rd.

Again, on Wednesday, September 17th, DeKalb County Deputies were patrolling County Road 141 and AL Hwy 75 and came across two motorcycles sitting in the middle of the roadway.  Deputies stopped the bikes and one of the male suspects was identified as Robert Eugene Ford (33 of Trenton, Ga).  During the stop Deputies foundFord to be in possession of a firearm, methamphetamineand drug paraphernalia.  Major Crimes Unit was contacted and responded. Ford was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

On Friday, September 19th, DeKalb County Major Crimes Unit went to a residence on County Road 122 to serve active warrants on Fred Richard Swain (60 of Sylvania).  After arriving Agents made contact with Swain and a female identified as April Lands(49 of Henagar).  While there Agents found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  BothSwain and Lands were charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

OnThursday, September 25th, DeKalb County Major Crimes Unit stopped a vehicle on County Road 58 for an expired tag.  During the stop the driver was identified as Heather Marie Plunk (39 of Albertville) and a male passenger was identified as Kevin Wayne Hardwick (30 of Albertville) who had outstanding warrants. During the stop methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.  Hardwick and Plunkwere both charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Friday, September 26th, DeKalb County School Resource Officer received an alert of a vape being used in the female’s restroom in the school.  The SRO and the Schools Vice Principal watched the camera system to see an Emma Lasha Seay (18 of Rainsville) leave the restroom.  The Vice Principal along with the SRO confronted Seay.  The Vice Principal searched Seay’s bag and found a THC Vape.  The DeKalb County Major Crimes Unit was contacted and Seay was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. 

On Tuesday, September 30th, DeKalb County Deputy along with Henagar Police Officer responded to County Road 771 in reference to a vehicle on the side of the road and the driver was passed out.  Upon their arrival they found a male suspect that was identified as Howard Wayne Smith (70 of Henagar).  During the stop Smith was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  The Major Crimes Unit was contacted and responded and Smith was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, September 30th, DeKalb County Deputy made a traffic stop on County Road 823 for a seat belt violation.  Upon making contact with the driver, he identified himself as Arnold Eugene Bunch (64 of Higdon).  During the stop methamphetamine was found.  The Major Crimes Unit was contacted and responded and Bunch was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Again, on Tuesday, September 30th, an Officer with Sylvania PD made a traffic stop on Blue Pond West for speeding in a school zone.  Upon making contact, the driver identified himself as Creed Draven White (27 of Henagar).  During the stop, White was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  The Major Crimes Unit was contacted and responded and White was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
