PLEASANT VALLEY – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats swept their way past Cedar Bluff on Tuesday 25-17, 25-20, 25-15 to earn a berth in the Class 2A, Area 13 volleyball tournament championship against host Pleasant Valley. The Lady Wildcats then finished runner-up to the Lady Raiders 20-25, 25-27, 18-25.

For the tournament, Caitlyn Lynch collected 20 kills for the Lady Wildcats (21-23). Macey Pruitt posted13 kills and five blocks. Maddie Clanton collected 56 assists, 20 digs, and three blocks. Emma Sipsy delivered 36 digs and six kills.

Megan Smith managed 12 kills and 35 digs. Paitlyn Hughes had 11 kills, 32 digs, and three aces. Molly Grace Lay finished with 28 digs.

In Cedar Bluff’s season ending loss to Sand Rock, Rylie Walker accounted for 22 assists, eight digs, a kill, and an ace. Kindal Grace delivered eight kills and four digs. Janaya Higgins posted six kills, seven digs, and three blocks.

Blakelea Hall had eight digs and five kills. Anslee Evans came away with four kills, four digs, and four blocks. Vana Martin finished with three digs.

Sand Rock will take on the Area 11 winner next Thursday in the North Super Regional at the Finley Center in Hoover at 11 a.m.
