Sixth-ranked Pisgah too much for Cedar Bluff

CEDAR BLUFF – Jeremiah Miller ran for 113 yards on 17 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns, but the Cedar Bluff Tigers fell to sixth-ranked Pisgah 38-13 in Class 2A, Region 7 football action on Friday.

The Eagles (5-2, 4-0) built a 38-0 lead in the first half. Jett Jeffrey put Pisgah on the board in the first quarter on a 47-yard touchdown run. The try for two was good. Cutter Mays then connected with Landon Watkins on a 60-yard touchdown pass. Another 2-point conversion gave Pisgah a 16-0 advantage.

Chad Smith added a 53-yard fumble recovery for a score for a 22-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Watkins opened the second quarter scoring with a punt return for a touchdown, then Mason Gass scored on a 54-yard touchdown run to put Pisgah in front 38-0.

Miller finally got Cedar Bluff (2-6, 1-4) on the scoreboard with a 2-yard touchdown run. The extra point was good, making the score 38-7 at halftime.

Miller scored again in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard run. The try for two was no good for the final.

Cedar Bluff travels to Sand Rock this Friday.
